Class of 1983/84

Many years ago, between the years 1983 and 1984, a class of children were born to individual mothers in a number of towns in and around the city of London, England. These boys shared each others joys, sadness, playtime, bullying, teacher-picking-ons and simchas all the way from Auntie Hellen in kindergarten up until today where they find themselves in all four corners of the world. This new resource is an effort to maintain and enhance a wonderful and unique bond that exists among them.

Antiochus V granted religious freedom:

Antiochus V granted religious freedom and autonomy to the Jews of Eretz Yisrael, 163B.C.E. Date was celebrated as a holiday marking the cancellation of decrees prohibiting circumcision, Torah study and Shabbat observance.
Prussia Jews:

Jews of Prussia were granted rights, 1277.

Purim in Cairo:

Purim of Cairo was observed annually in commemoration of an escape from massacre, 1524.

The 28th of Adar in the 2nd Century marks a Talmudic holiday:
In Talmudic times, Adar 28 used to be celebrated to commemorate the rescinding of a Roman decree against ritual circumcision, Torah study and keeping the Shabbat. The decree was revoked through the efforts of Rabbi Yehudah ben Shamua and his fellow rabbis. (Megillat Taanit, Rosh Hashanah 19a)
