Talk about the grapevine and word of mouth being the fastest forms of communication, we now have another follower
classof80-81.blogspot.com who have set up their own blog for their class. Don't get me wrong, i think it is wonderful to have all the classes running the same idea, and i think using the same name gives us all unity, so you have my blessing. This applies to Yisroel Lew as well, i don't think it is corny or non-creative in any way, it was amusing though to locate your blog on first attempt.
One thing i will comment on though is, class of 1980/81 should really allow other users to comment, maybe don't give access to anyone however atleast to members with blogger accounts. We would love to update you guys perhaps with links to posts concerning London and Stamford Hill, so we hope you could change that. But if privacy is what you wan then privacy is what you will get.
I hope these blogs bring the stamford hill community closer.
I don't like to be the spreader of bad news, but i have to mention that one of the oldest and a dear mebers to the Stamford Hill community passed away this morning. I am sure we all remeber My Paley from mechina and the amusement we shared with him. Mr Paley who had been suffering from, not-wished-apoun-anyone,
yenne macleh for the past 5 years or so passed on at 6:00am this morning. Let me take the opportunity to wish the whole olam in Stamford Hill many successful years.
Pesach, as I mentioned before, kol hakovod to you for starting this catalyst which enables us to stay connected.
The classof80-81 blog was set up by Motty Rabin - who lives here in Melbourne - we have(or are supposed to have is more like it ;-)) a chavrusa once a week and we discussed the idea so he set his one up.
I doubt that the prevention of non-members from posting comments was deliberate - he probably just set it up without bothering to tweak any of the settings. I'll ask him about it bl"n (he's a bit disappointed by the response from his class I think).
Boruch dayan haemes for Mr Paley - that's really sad. May you be zoche to spread only good news from now on culminating with the ultimate good news - the coming of Moshiach now!
P.S. It is very fitting that your post mentioning Mr Paley's a"h passing is right above the one of his son-in-law's tremendous hatzlocho in Cambridge BH - the inyan of v'hachai yitein el loboi etc.
Hey Yisroel, it would be great if you could pass that message on to Motty. I saw that he was quite upset about the participation, I wanted to comment to him on that. You proabably know as well as I do that it is hard to get others members to post, yet you still post until you get board. It would be great to have people posting on a daily or even weekly basis, but it aint gonna happen.
Best of luck, I check yours often to see if there is anything i can link this one to, so you can rely on me :).
P.S. Class members of this site: This is in no way an excuse to keep lurking and not posting or commenting, you are still obliged to post from time to time. After all, how are we going to hear about what is happening by you?
I will work on something Pesach. As you can see not much time has been put in to it, I guess I don't have much time to spend on the computer, I would be glad to talk about ways of improving with you.
Motty..
Ps. where are you? are you on messenger?
